5 ChatGPT Codes For Product Photos

Five short codes, /3D billboard, /meta ads, /showcase, /360 view and /lifestyle shot, that turn one photo of your product into ad images in ChatGPT, with copyable prompts.

These five codes are short labels you type after uploading a product photo to ChatGPT. ChatGPT reads each one as an instruction for the kind of image to make. They are a prompting habit people share, so they work best when you also say what the code means. Every prompt below does that for you. Copy one and replace the details in square brackets.

How to use the codes

  1. Take a clear photo of your product in good light, ideally on a plain background.
  2. Open a new ChatGPT conversation and upload the photo.
  3. Copy the prompt for the code you want, fill in the square brackets and send it.
  4. If the result is close but not quite right, ask for one change at a time until it looks how you want.

1. /3D billboard

Shows your product on a giant outdoor billboard, so you can see what a launch campaign could look like.

Prompt
/3D billboard means: place the product from my photo on a giant 3D billboard on a busy city street, with the product looking like it pops out of the screen. Make it look like a real photo taken from the pavement at golden hour. Keep the product and its logo exactly as they appear in my photo. Add the headline "[your headline]" on the billboard.

2. /meta ads

Makes an ad image for Instagram and Facebook. The prompt asks for a 4:5 vertical image, which suits the feed. Change it to 9:16 for Stories and Reels or 1:1 for a square post.

Prompt
/meta ads means: turn my product photo into an ad image for Instagram and Facebook in a 4:5 vertical format. Use a clean background with bold lighting, and leave clear space at the top for a short headline. The product is [what it is] and it's for [who it's for]. Keep the product and its logo exactly as they appear in my photo.

3. /showcase

Turns a phone photo into a clean studio shot you could use on a shop page or a website.

Prompt
/showcase means: turn my photo into a professional studio product shot on a plain [colour] background with soft lighting and a gentle shadow underneath. Keep the product and its logo exactly as they appear in my photo.

4. /360 view

Shows your product from four angles in one image. ChatGPT makes still images, so you get a grid of angles rather than a spinning video. It has to guess the sides your photo doesn't show, so upload a second photo of the back if you have one.

Prompt
/360 view means: show the product from my photo from four angles in a single image, laid out as a 2 by 2 grid on a plain white background. Use the front, the left side, the back and a view from above. Keep the design and logo the same in every angle.

5. /lifestyle shot

Puts your product into a real everyday scene with someone using it, so people can picture it in their own life.

Prompt
/lifestyle shot means: place the product from my photo in a realistic everyday scene where a person is using it. The setting is [setting, for example a bright kitchen in the morning]. Use natural light and make it look like a real photo. Keep the product and its logo exactly as they appear in my photo.

Use the codes for a whole chat

Send this once at the start of a conversation. After that you can upload a photo and type just the code on its own. ChatGPT will know what it means.

Prompt
For the rest of this chat, treat these codes as instructions for editing the product photos I upload. /3D billboard: put the product on a giant 3D billboard on a city street. /meta ads: make a 4:5 Instagram and Facebook ad with space at the top for a headline. /showcase: make a studio shot on a plain background with soft lighting. /360 view: show the product from four angles in a 2 by 2 grid. /lifestyle shot: place the product in a realistic scene with a person using it. Always keep the product and its logo exactly as they appear in my photo. Reply with OK when you're ready.

Keep in mind

These codes are a prompting habit, and the instruction you give with them does the work. Small text such as labels and logos can change between versions, so check every image closely before you use it in an ad or on a shop page.
