How to Try On Clothes With ChatGPT

ChatGPT can now show you wearing clothes before you buy them. Since 2 October 2026, a Try on button appears on clothes and accessory listings in ChatGPT, on both mobile and web. You add a selfie, and ChatGPT makes an image of you wearing the item. Here's how to use it, step by step.

First, two plain terms. A listing is a product ChatGPT shows you, with a picture and details. A reference photo is the selfie ChatGPT saves, so it can show items on you again without asking for a new photo.

1. Find the Try on button

Ask ChatGPT to help you look for clothes or accessories. When it shows you product listings, look for the Try on button. Start with:

Show me some navy raincoats for everyday wear.

2. Tap Try on and add a selfie

Tap Try on. Then take a new selfie, or upload one you already have. ChatGPT makes an image of you wearing the item, so you can get a feel for the colour and style before you decide.

3. Try on an item from your own photo

You can also do this with your own picture. If you have a photo of a clothing item, for example a screenshot from a shop or a photo of something in your wardrobe, upload it in a chat. Then say:

Show me how this would look on me.

You can name the item too, if you like. Try:

Show me how this jacket would look on me.

4. Change or delete your reference photo

Your reference photo is saved, so you don't have to upload it again each time. If you want to swap it for a newer photo, or remove it completely, here's where to go:

• Open Settings.
• Tap Personalization.
• Tap Reference photos, then change or delete your photo.
