How to Book a Restaurant Table With ChatGPT

ChatGPT can find available restaurant tables for you and help you book one, right in the chat. OpenAI added this on 10 August 2026. It's on all ChatGPT plans, and it works on mobile, web and desktop.

It works with three booking services: OpenTable, Resy and Yelp. A booking service is a website or app that restaurants use to take reservations. ChatGPT looks at those services for free tables and shows you the times in its answer.

Where it works: OpenTable works worldwide, Resy is in the US, and Yelp covers the US and Canada.

1. Say where, when and how many

Tell ChatGPT the town or area, the day and time, and how many people are coming. Then add anything else that matters to you, such as the type of food, your budget, dietary needs or the atmosphere you'd like. Start with:

Find me a table for four in Manchester on Saturday at 7pm. Italian, under thirty pounds each, one vegetarian.

Swap in your own details. Here's another example you can copy and change:

Find me a table for two in Toronto on Friday at 8pm. Japanese food, somewhere quiet, with gluten free options.

2. Look at the available times

Available times show up in ChatGPT's answer. Read through the list before you choose anything.

3. Narrow it down

If the list is long, ask a follow up question to cut it down. Say:

Just the quieter ones before 8pm.

You can keep going with more follow ups. For example:

Only show the ones under twenty five pounds each.

4. Pick a time to book

When you've found one you like, select a time to book. Check the restaurant name, the date, the time and the number of people carefully as you go.

Good to know

• It's on all ChatGPT plans, on mobile, web and desktop.
• OpenTable works worldwide. Resy is in the US. Yelp covers the US and Canada.
• You'll only see restaurants that are listed on OpenTable, Resy or Yelp. If a restaurant isn't on those services, it won't show up.
• It isn't available in Work mode.
• Give as much detail as you can (where, when, how many, food, budget, dietary needs, atmosphere) so the list matches what you asked for.
